The Art Of Travel
Boyarde x Globe Trotter
When Boyarde was asked to interpret and hand-paint The Art of Travel for two of Globe Trotter’s exquisite Carry-on suitcases, Boyarde dove in and married her love of Scopophilia, ‘the pleasure of gazing’ with her infatuation of The Golden Age of Hollywood, splicing familiar imagery reflecting an era of protagonism gorging on decadence, a fracas of the sexes, creating artworks reminiscent of timeless movie posters. These artworks create the perfect puzzle to take you on a never-ending journey, keep you curious, to hold your gaze as you decide on the final destination and the ending of the story.
Hand-painted in Boyarde’s South London studio and taking around 300 hours to paint, each suitcase exemplifies Boyarde’s celebrated attention to fine detail and craftsmanship with around 30 layers of specialist paints and unique mediums to bond to the surface, strengthen the paint, ensure longevity and quality that Boyarde has long been known for.
